It provides dynamic vocationally related services inspired by direct involvement in the music industry. Most of ATM's employees are musicians who are still actively working in music. The company currently employs some 250 people. THE BASEMENT STUDIO

It’s the place Roni Size called 'school'. Offers free live music, music technology, vocal and DJ/MCing with experienced music tutors and gear via twice-weekly open access sessions for young people, plus free music technology or radio courses starting at basic level using Cool Edit Pro, Cubase VST and Reason. Can record music demos and help with performance skills etc. Also runs a range of outreach and special projects, from young people's stages at festivals to creating film soundtracks and jam sessions. Works in partnership with other organisations, including Bristol City Council Youth and Arts services.

BRISTOL MUSIC FOUNDATION
11 George St, Bristol BS1 5RR, email: mail@bristolmusicfoundation.com, web: www.bristolmusicfoundation.com • The BMF was established in July 2005 as a not-for-profit limited company with a board of 11 directors - all music industry professionals living and/or working in Bristol.
It is dedicated to identifying areas of need within the Bristol and South West music industry, and to providing education and advice on all aspects of the music industry to individuals and organisations in the form of seminars, forums, mentoring schemes etc. Its long-term aims are to encourage economic development within the music industry in Bristol and to promote and assist in the export of music from Bristol and the South West to other regions and countries through establishing solid links with the national and international music industry. The end of April this year will see the fifth annual South West Sound event, giving music practitioners of all types the opportunity to get together. See Q&A on page 57.

KAYTO SOUND
web: www.kaytosound.com • Kayto Sound is a musical workshop provider primarily for young people. Provides an array of contemporary music and artistic workshops to various organisations and individuals across the UK. Kayto also provides 'Hi-Tech' music workshops that work for both the young people and the organisation. Risk assessments, evaluations and certification are all part of the service. Specialist tutors experienced in working with young people of all backgrounds.

MUSICIANS’ UNION

PERFORMING RIGHTS SOCIETY (PRS)
