• The second album from Scott Hendy and Gary Ealey is a classically Bristolian stew of hip-hop breaks and psychedelic pop, recalling a collaboration between The Beta Band and DJ Shadow. Spitting out 14 tracks in 35 minutes, it’s a frantically paced mood swing of a record that makes for an impressive, if occasionally confusing, listen. Backwards drum loops, walloping basslines, sleazy guitars and soundtrack orchestrations all tease their way into the flavoursome mix, and the songwriting is generally strong. A highlight is the wonderfully bonkers 'My Ambulance', which is how The Beatles would have sounded in 1967, had they taken the drums to the next level by tormenting Ringo’s nipples with an electric cattle prod.
