• Multi-instrumentalist Aron Ward is a Californian in Bristol (and therefore allowed to spell his own band name wrongly). His hyperactive, over-stimulated electronica is a constantly shifting stew of skewed instrumental pop, super-saturated fuzz guitar blow-outs (with proper good drumming, a real rarity for laptop boffins) and demented Attention Deficit Disorder rhythms. Like the artist Paul Klee taking a line for a walk, the music wanders everywhere it damn well likes. Some of the best tracks are available free (see site below). At 34 tracks it’s insanely overlong – I needed a sit down after just six – but assessed as a sprawling whole, its closest companion is Cornelius’s ‘Fantasma’, and that’s a masterpiece, right?
