It's an effervescent surge of hydroelectric indie-rock, converted from barrelling toms, turbine drone and dewdrop guitars. Oliver Barrett's wistful, wind-in-sail croon steadies this vessel, and guides it to blissful shores. Happily, 'Bison' surfs similar channels throughout. A theme? Battling the elements – elements, in this case, weathered both without and within. Heavy-hearted murmurs give way to great swells of hope. 'Bison' apexes at 'Mysterious Cults' thanks to roll-rock drums and a cloud-shifting chorus of sun-shaft vocals. Voyaging solo? Keep company with Bleeding Heart Narrative. (Jamie Skey)
