Fencing's a fun way to get fit, is surprisingly energetic, involves much strategy and gives you the chance to prod people with swords. Thankfully, everyone's well protected and the spirit of the classes means you never need to apologise. Maitre Jim Perry has had years of teaching the sport and has trained national champions. Lessons run Wednesdays 8-9.30pm at Churchill Sports Centre, North Somerset.
