Tel: 01225 310772
● This spacious, bustling city inn, formerly the Litten Tree, has had a £175,000 facelift and reinvented itself as the Beau Nash, in homage to the dandy socialite who transformed Bath’s reputation in the 18th century. The huge, open-plan bar, sofa/lounging areas and sport on huge plasma screens from wherever you sit have all remained intact. Food is of the doorstep sandwich or steak/pie/fish with chips variety, and all portions go large, including the almost impossibly macho Sunday roasts. Open Daily 12noon-11pm Food Mon-Thur 12noon-9pm, Fri-Sun 12noon-8pm

Lunchtime-only menus push all the right pub grub buttons (sturdy sarnies, full-on roast dinners, homemade pies, sausage & mash), with the kind of sourcing details that most other pubs make a stomach-churning screech about: Bath Bakery bread, Bath Soft Cheese Company cheese, Bartlett’s meat, Sausage Shop bangers.
