Browns opened in April 1999, after converting the Old Police Station in Orange Grove into a modern brasserie-style restaurant. Bathonians no longer had to drive to Bristol to get style, quality and excellent service.

Since opening in Brighton in 1973, Browns has consistently delivered good food, wonderful surroundings and relaxed but attentive service. Most Browns restaurants are impressively located – and this one occupies a stunning Georgian building that’s large enough to offer space and comfort, but also has a lovely sense of personality and intimacy.
Browns appeals to so many different people because it’s perfect for so many different occasions. Morning coffee with newspapers, brunch, light lunch, afternoon tea, early-evening drinks with colleagues, a celebratory meal for two or a large party with friends... Browns really does offer it all. Split over two levels, with a 160-seater restaurant and large bar, it provides a timelessly stylish environment in which to relax.

Browns is perfect for special occasions, but it also offers great deals for quick ‘fill-ups’ while you’re sightseeing or shopping. The chalkboards offer tremendous lunch value and speed, while the Martini Nights (Mon-Wed from 5pm) are great for getting the evening off with a swing. A winter oasis, Browns really comes alive in the summer. With one of the West Country's most stunning alfresco dining areas (check out the views over the Abbey, Sham Castle and Orange Grove), this is the place to be seen.
