Candlelight, Arabian music, brimful of eastern promise…

Situated in The Podium in Bath is a rather exotic destination for all you lovers of spicy foods and great atmosphere. Arabesque has brought a slice of the Lebanon to the West Country food court. This is where to go for candlelight, gold-braided cushions, Arabian music, and low wooden tables that are separated from the outside world by something resembling a large yurt or Mongolian tent. All this helps to create a most authentic, romantic and social ambience, perfectly matched by a menu that’s absolutely brimful of eastern promise.

There are lots of vegetarian options for starters and mains - the likes of muhamara (mixed nuts crushed with chilli, red pepper and spices) and bamia sada (okra in tomato sauce, served with rice). Or try the kafta khishkhash (minced lamb, onions and parsley, grilled on skewers and served with grilled onions, tomatoes, green peppers and tomato & herb sauce). Whatever you opt for, it’s sure to be aromatic and full of cumin, sesame, mint, coriander and parsley, all wonderfully complementing the smoky and spicy meats and fishes
on offer.

Arabesque creates a magnificent and seriously exotic experience for the diner. They do mezze meals for two to four people, and their lunchtime special (an eat-all-you-can buffet) is great value at less than £7.
