The feast
starts here...
Welcome to Eating Out West: the definitive food and drink guide to a region rich in prandial pleasures that serve all budgets, tastes and occasions.
While a plethora of national restaurant, pub and food shopping guides increasingly focus on this diverse, vibrant corner of Britain, few can offer the reliable detail of a long-established publication researched, written and compiled by a dedicated team of fastidious foodies with a knowledge of the local food scene that could be described as compulsive. But while we’re not afraid to blow our own trumpet, we don’t rest on our laurels either. New sections in the 22nd edition of Eating Out West include features that highlight award-winners, special events and the best local shopping opportunities, while subtle changes to our listings have been designed to make the whole experience even more user-friendly.
Change is in the air in more general terms, too. While those long-awaited green shoots of economic recovery may not be exactly blooming, they’re certainly in evidence on these very pages. If caution was the order of the day this time last year, optimism is writ large on the menu in this issue. In the past 12 months, Bristol and Bath have welcomed over 50 new food- and drink-related business between them (including a brand new Jamie’s Italian for Bristol and a Yo! Sushi for Bath), while the region as a whole is set to play host to dozens of food festivals over the summer months. And where can you find the lowdown on all this and more? Right here, right now.
Tuck in and enjoy!
